FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

East View Licenses World Mapping Today  from DeGruyter

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – November 22, 2013 – East View is pleased to announce that it will revive and add value to the content that makes up the authoritative reference work, "World Mapping Today, 2nd Edition" by R.B. Parry and C.R. Perkins.

"World Mapping Today" has long been a staple reference work for map libraries and geography departments the world over. The German publisher DeGruyter is the copyright holder and agreed to license the content to East View to enable the content to be updated and turned into additional creations that will serve the geospatial community at-large.

Kent D. Lee, Founder and CEO of East View, is a long-standing user of the information contained in "World Mapping Today". “The latest edition is now thirteen years old and it still is something I go to on a weekly basis. It was a seminal tool for anyone wanting to know what map series exists over any country in the world. East View will add a tremendous amount of value to the hundreds of pages of well-researched and thoughtfully laid out narrative contained in 'World Mapping Today'.”

Some of the initial value-add that East View will bring to this content include adding up to date index maps representing every map series discussed in the pages of "World Mapping Today". Additionally, an e-book will be created. The content will also be added into www.geospatial.com providing more detail for each country and aiding in the discovery of data. Kent D. Lee, “This content provides more substance to our strategy of East View Geospatial being the go-to resource for geospatial data for GIS and non-GIS professionals the world over.”
