The island of Mayotte is administered as a French overseas territory, and mapped by official French agencies using slightly different specifications to mapping than the other independent islands in the Comoros group. The Institut Géographique National (IGN) covers Mayotte in two 1:25,000 scale sheets conforming to Série bleue specifications, on the UTM projection, International ellipsoid, and with 10 m contours.

Soviet military topographic mapping of Mayotte exists at the following scales: 1:1,000,000 (1 sheet, complete coverage, published in 1991); 1:500,000 (2 sheets, complete coverage, published in 1987) and 1:200,000 (4 sheets, complete coverage, published in 1985). These products are available in print, digital raster and digital vector GIS formats from East View Geospatial.

The Service Hydrographique et Océanographique de la Marine (SHOM) publishes a nautical chart of the island.

The Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières (BRGM) completed a geological map of the island in 1996.

A single-sheet tourist map of Mayotte at 1:50,000 scale with 20 m contours has been published.
