Niue is an isolated island between the Cook and Tonga Islands,
and has been mapped by New Zealand agencies. Surveying
and mapping of the island is the responsibility of the Justice
Lands and Survey Department (NJLSD). 1:50,000 scale
topographic coverage of the island was revised to 1996 by
Terralink and published by Land Information New
Zealand (LINZ) for NJLSD, on the Transverse Mercator
projection, International ellipsoid, with a larger scale map
of the area around Alofi.
Soviet military topographic mapping of Niue is available at the following scale: 1:1,000,000 (1 sheet, complete coveage, published in 1965). This product is available in
print, digital raster and digital vector GIS formats from East View Geospatial.
