Bouvet Island, a small uninhabited island in the South Atlantic, is a Norwegian dependency. Air photographic cover was obtained during 1978-79 and 1984─85. The island is mapped by the Norsk Polarinstitutt (NPI), Oslo. A provisional map was published in 1981, and a final edition in 1986. The 1:20,000 scale map has 20 m interval contours and is on a UTM projection.
