East View Geospatial Becomes Satrec Initiative Reseller

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota, USA – February 10, 2014 – East View Geospatial (EVG) is pleased to announce its new reseller agreement with South Korea’s Satrec Initiative (SI), the leading solutions provider of earth observation missions.

EVG is now able to resell archival imagery collected from the KOMPSAT 2 and KOMPSAT 3 as well as task new imagery collection to meet client requests. Both sensors provide high-resolution imagery; KOMPSAT 2 collects 1m multispectral imagery and KOMPSAT 3 collects 0.7m multispectral imagery.

Kent D. Lee, Founder and CEO of EVG, said, “The KOMPSAT sensors created and maintained by SI are a welcome addition to our current imagery holdings. Our customers now have an additional source of high-resolution satellite imagery to enhance their geospatial projects.”

“We are very excited to have EVG as our new partner for KOMPSAT imagery service and believe we will be better positioned to meet our customer’s expectations the world over through EVG’s large network of international customers and partners,” said Moongyu Kim, Vice President of SI. “Now we have a joint force of versatile team members from East View and Satrec Initiative, and I am confident that the constellation of KOMPSAT-2, 3, 5 will be received in the US market and elsewhere as an alternative VHR EO and radar satellite image source. This will provide customers with fair access to space-borne imagery.”

Founded in 1999, SI has maintained its long standing focus of developing commercialized space technology through the effective and integrated solutions of innovative technology, productivity improvement and cost reduction. As a result, SI is able to offer earth observation mission applications and services that include spacecraft bus, earth observation payload, communication equipment and satellite imagery receiving and processing systems.
